You will be contacted regarding  upcoming enrollment and steps to take in order to be admitted to the program.

Eligibility

To be considered for admission, students must be 16-18* years old, out of school for two months (or have a long-term absence designation), and have at least an eighth grade reading level.

Admissions Process

To begin the admissions process, interested students and their parent(s)/guardian or other support person will need to:

  • Attend an Info Session about our program.
  • Take a TABE exam and achieve a minimum proficiency.
    • You MUST bring the following documents on the day you take the TABE test:
      Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, last high school transcript, immunization records, proof of current address.
  • Meet with an admissions and evaluation counselor for a personal interview, during which potential students will be asked about their past educational experiences, commitment to a full-time, year-round program, and personal issues that may impact their efforts at CUNY Prep.

* Prospective students must turn 17 within the academic year (by June 30, 2012).

Finally, successful applicants must attend and complete a week-long orientation at the start of the semester before they can register for classes.
